What a fantastic day! We learned greetings and basic conversation with Madame Ireland. We also sang songs in French such as 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' and we learned how to count to 20.

We tasted French food such as brie, Boursin, croissants and crepes and we used Purple Mash to research facts about France and become experts!

Class 3 French fun!

Class 2 French Day

We have had a wonderful day! This morning we started by learning to sing 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' in French before having a French lesson with Madame Ireland. We learnt how to say hello and goodbye and also the French words for different colours.
We were able to taste some French food; croissants, French baguettes and cheese, grapes and grape juice.
During the afternoon we researched different facts about France and built our own Eiffel Towers. We also learnt how to count to 10 in French.

Here's what some of the children had to say:

'Learning French was really good fun' - Maddie
'Once you get to speak French you realise that some of the words are similar to ours' - Elizabeth

'I loved learning French with Madame Ireland' - Ava

'I liked learning to sing 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' in French' - Freya

'I loved tasting all of the French food.' - Elizabeth

In Class 1 we celebrated French day in a variety of ways.

During the morning we had a French lesson with Madame Ireland, we then created models and paintings of the Eiffel Tower.

We created French flags, learnt a song and also spent the afternoon tasting a variety of French foods like brie, baguettes, crepes, croissants and pan au chocolat.
