Homework - Autumn term
For the time being, homework will be completed online only, using MyMaths or Purple Mash. It will be set on a Thursday and due in on a Monday. Children have a copy of their log in details in the back of their reading records. Any issues with logging in, please let us know. Spellings are on the class webpage under the spellings folder and will be tested on Thursday. Your child will be told which group they are in. Times tables - the children are working towards the 100 Club and information on this is in the Times Table folder on the class page. Times tables will be tested on Monday. This week we are working on multiplying, either as an introduction to multiplying or work on multiplying by 10 or 100. The homework can be found on My Maths as usual. We would also like the children to have a go at Hit the Button (a link to this is on our maths page), practising the tables that they are learning at the moment. There is also homework set on Purple Mash based on geography work, either labelling the countries in the UK or putting the capital city names in the right place.
Maths homework for this week can be found on My Maths, where we will be revising multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. As part of our work during Anti-Bullying Week, there is homework set on Purple Mash around the theme of Including Others. The children are to design a leaflet to show how they can include others in their games during playtime.
Maths homework for this week for can be found on My Maths, with work on mental addition and subtraction, then work on using the inverse and estimation to answer addition and subtraction questions and finally, for some, mixed sums. Homework has been set on Purple Mash which combines our history theme and ICT skills. Children will be using the program 2connect to record what they know about World War II so far or using it to record what they know about how World War II began.

Homework for I.C.T. has been set on Purple Mash on the subject of internet safety. The children have an internet safety task sorting behaviours into safe and unsafe when you are using the internet, plus an online safety quiz. This gives a great opportunity to discuss internet safety with your child, following on from our work in class.

For SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) there is work on Purple Mash using inverted commas when direct speech is being used in writing, continued from last week. There is also an art activity with work on the four seasons.

For SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) there is work on Purple Mash, about using inverted commas when direct speech is being used in writing.
Homework for this week for maths can be found on MyMaths, with work on hundreds , tens and ones or work on negative numbers. On Purple Mash, there is work on report writing where children will have the opportunity to choose and combine words, images and clipart to create an effective news story.
Homework for this week for maths can be found on MyMaths, with work on ordering whole numbers or work on Roman Numerals (this will be covered in class on Friday). There is SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) work on Purple Mash and includes work on sorting sentences and using conjunctions and/but/so for Year 3. For Year 4, there is work on using the correct punctuation in a sentence and using subordination and co-ordination in sentences.
