“Hand in hand with God,we live love and learn together.”

“By God’s grace, we learn to loveand love to learn.”

Maths

Maths is taught in the class through a range of practical and written work.  Our maths theme changes across the term and you can find our long time plan below.

For guidance, the objectives for Year 3 and Year 4 are found below.  These are the objectives that the children will be working towards throughout the year.

Investigating 2D shapes

Class 3 have been investigating 2D shapes and making them using our peg boards.  They discussed the properties of the shapes, including the number of sides and corners.  They also had to decide what the shape was called and if it was a regular or irregular shape.

Number of the Week

We have a number of the week where the children choose from two different numbers and have to investigate that number.  They can choose to halve it, double it, draw it, write it in words and much more!

To help with your maths at home there are a good number of websites with great games to try out.  Times tables are a main focus for the children in Class 3 so please follow the links below for places to practise them!
