Easter

Christians will be celebrating Easter soon, in April.  It is one of the most important events in the Christian calendar and is when Jesus died and rose again.  Use the clips below to find out more about Easter.  We are thinking about forgiveness.  Who do you think Jesus had to forgive in the events leading up to his death?  Can you find these people in the story of Easter?

1. Judas

2. Peter

3. Pontius Pilate

Now think about how they acted.  Did they act how you would expect them to?  Try thinking about how they would have been feeling too.

Easter activities

  1. Why not try and do a timeline of the Easter Story using the events that you know about?
  2. You could make Easter cards using an empty cross or a sunrise over the 3 empty crosses.
  3. Make an Easter garden using a tray or shallow box.  Use things from the garden to make a small garden with the cross in it and the tomb with the stone.
  4. Cross stained glass window - use the outline of a cross and then fill the centre with pieces of tissue paper to create a stained glass effect.
  5. Create a cross silhouette.  Use masking tape to create a cross, paint over the top with a brush away pattern, then peel off the tape to leave a white cross in the centre.
