We have been learning about the Jewish faith Judaism. We learnt that both Jews and Christians believe that God created the world in the same way and that on the 7th day he rested.
Within class we have been learning about Shabbat and the importance of it. We had a go at Shabbat within out class and learnt about Manna.
We are going to be starting off Summer 1 learning about Discipleship and answering the question,
Why did Zacchaeus change when he met Jesus?
We are going to be studying the story of Zacchaeus and looking at how he behaved before and after meeting Jesus.
God the Holy Spirit
We are then going to continue the term learning about God the Holy Spirit and answer the question,
What do Christian symbols teach about the Holy Spirit?
We will be examining and identifying different Christian symbols as well as learning about how the Bible describes the Holy Spirit.
We are going to be starting this half term off by looking answering the following questions,
What good news stories did Jesus tell?
We are going to be learning some good news stories, thinking about why good news is important to Christians and to share our own good news stories.
During Autumn 2 we are going to be looking at the Christmas story in more detail and considering the question,
What can be learnt about Jesus from the Nativity story?
We are going to be investigating the events of the Christmas story to locate facts about Jesus. We are going to be learning about where he was born, why his birth was seen as good news, and what happened when the angels appeared.
God the Creator
This half term we are going to be learning about God the Creator. Within this unit of work we will consider the answer to the following question.
Why is the idea of God the Creator important to Christians?
We will be studying the story of Creation and will learn that one God created our world. We will discuss that God loves the world that he created and that many Christians refer to God as the Creator. We are also going to consider how as Christians we can look after and treat the world we live in with care.
