In Art, following the story Share a Seashell by Julia Donaldson, Otters have made our own seashells using pencils and colouring pencils

Autum 1 🐚

In Art this afternoon we looked closely at circle objects in the environment. Later in the term we will start making our own shaped artwork. 😊⭐️

In Autumn 2, we have been creating our own slider pictures using a variety or materials and tools.

In Spring 1, we are learning to express with matierials. We have painted with string, used wax crayons for rubbing, used oil pastels and paint to make a collage.

🎨 Expressive Art – Spring 2

This half term, our EYFS children will be exploring expressive Art through a range of creative, hands‑on experiences. They will explore colour, texture, shape and pattern using a variety of materials, tools and techniques. Through painting, collage, model‑making and imaginative play, the children will be encouraged to express their ideas, experiment freely and talk about their creations with growing confidence. Our provision is designed to nurture curiosity, creativity and independence, helping every child to develop their own artistic voice.

Summer 2  

DT – The Naughty Bus (Summer 2 2026)

In DT this half term, the children are diving into The Naughty Bus and using the story as inspiration for exploring 3D models and construction. In Week 1, we’ll be getting to know the Naughty Bus itself — looking closely at real buses and vehicles, handling different 3D shapes, and exploring a range of materials. The children will investigate how things are made, talk about the parts of a vehicle, and begin experimenting with joining, building and designing their own imaginative bus creations.
