Maths

In Maths we will be studying place value and calculations in the first half of the Autumn Term. In the second half of the Autumn Term we will continue to focus on calculations and also fractions and decimals. We will be using the White Rose Scheme of Work to support our learning and provide structure and continuity. Homework journals will be sent home each Tuesday and I will ask for them to be returned the following Monday so I can check understanding. Please encourage your child to come and talk to me if they are finding any part of the homework difficult and we will go through it with them.

In the Summer Term, Year 4 will sit the statuatory Multiplications Table Check (MTC). This online test helps us to assess pupils' recall of times table facts up to 12 x 12 - it is expected that all Year 4 pupils know these off by heart by the end of the year.
