Spring 1 - Wonderful Weather 🌦️
In our Wonderful Weather unit, children will learn about the different types of weather they experience in their immediate environment. They will explore daily weather changes and begin to develop an understanding of the four seasons.
As the unit progresses, children will extend their learning to discover hot and cold areas of the world and explore how different types of weather can affect people and places. They will have opportunities to observe, discuss and record the weather, present their own weather forecasts, and use weather symbols and key vocabulary.
This unit makes valuable links across the curriculum, including Science, Computing, Mathematics and Literacy, supporting children to develop their knowledge through practical, engaging activities.

At Great Budworth and Antrobus, our aim is to provide a high-quality Geography education that inspires pupils with a deep curiosity and fascination about the world and its people.
Our teaching equips children with knowledge of diverse places, people, resources, and both natural and human environments. We foster a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. As pupils progress, they develop a more sophisticated understanding of how these processes interact and shape the landscapes and environments around us.
Through Geography, children explore their local area and compare it with other regions across the United Kingdom and the wider world. They learn to read, draw, and interpret maps, and develop essential skills in research, investigation, analysis, and problem-solving.
By deepening their understanding of human geography, pupils gain an appreciation for different cultures and ways of life. Geography also encourages children to explore the physical world and understand the importance of sustainable development for the future of our planet.
