Autumn 1
This half term our work will be based around the book Radiant Child, the story of a young artist, Jean - Michel Basquiate by Javaka Steptoe.
Our writing outcome is to write an information text about Jean - Michel Basquiate suitable for an art gallery.
Autumn 2
This half term we will be completing work around the book Queen of the Falls.
Queen of the Falls is the story of Annie Edson Taylor, by Chris Van Allsburg. Our writing outcome is to write a series of diary entries from different perspectives.

Spring 1
This half term we will be working around our reading of Malala's Magic Pencil.
This is Malala Yousafzai's autobiography. Our writing outcome is to write our own autobiographies.
Spring 2
This half term we will be working around our reading of The Paperbag Prince.
We have been focusing on our environmental impacts and the ways we can reduce them. Our writing outcome is to write a pursuasive piece on landfill sites.

Summer 1 This half term our writing will be focused on Bold and Brave Women from Shakespeare, supported by our pathways to read unit. We will be reading this text about the roles of a cast of heroines from Shakespeare's worlds.

Summer 2 This half term our guided reading will be focused on Sky Chasers by Emma Carroll. Emma Carroll is also our author of the term. We will be reading this text, a historical fiction, about a race to be the first to discover the secret of flight in Paris.
